Hotel parking is on the third floor of the parking deck and it is a short walk over the skybridge to reception from there. As I pulled into the parking deck an attendant was picking up loose trash despite the bitter cold. Casino/Hotel properties can feel shabby and desperate, and I was hoping I wasn’t making a huge mistake staying in one. Just maybe I could make this trip interesting. Looking to break the monotony I booked myself at Harrah’s in Downtown Joliet. Business travel sounds glamourous but usually is reducible to long workdays, a serviceable hotel by the interstate and dinner at Outbacklebees or Chilibarrel Wild Wings. ![]()
